Lump, granular, powder and pastille sulfur from Iran

Katazo Trade sources high-purity sulfur from Iran's gas and oil refineries and supplies it to fertilizer, chemical, mining and agricultural companies abroad. Tell us your specification and volume, and we will match it to an available lot.

  • Typical purity 99.5%+
  • Five forms, from lump to pastilles
  • Analysis shared for every lot

Five forms of Iranian sulfur

Every form starts as sulfur recovered from the refining of natural gas and crude oil in Iran, so the chemistry stays high-purity. The form decides how the sulfur handles, stores and melts in your process.

Lump sulfur

Irregular pieces, typically up to 150 mm

Solid sulfur in irregular pieces, broken from solidified sulfur and crushed. It is the most economical form and suits buyers who melt sulfur on site.

Main applications

  • Sulfuric acid plants with melters
  • Sulfur melting and re-forming
  • Chemical processing

Packing options

  • Bulk vessel
  • Jumbo bags
Request lump sulfur

Granular sulfur

Round granules, typically 2–6 mm

Hard, free-flowing granules that produce little dust, store well and handle easily in bulk. The standard form for acid plants and fertilizer producers.

Main applications

  • Sulfuric acid production
  • Phosphate and sulfur-enhanced fertilizers
  • Copper and nickel ore leaching

Packing options

  • Bulk vessel
  • Jumbo bags
  • 25 / 50 kg bags
Request granular sulfur

Sulfur powder

Fine powder, typically 80–325 mesh

Finely ground sulfur, milled to the mesh size your process needs. Use it where sulfur has to disperse evenly or react quickly.

Main applications

  • Agricultural fungicide and soil conditioning
  • Rubber vulcanization
  • Dyes, matches and pharmaceuticals

Packing options

  • 25 / 50 kg bags
  • Jumbo bags
Request sulfur powder

Sulfur flakes

Thin flat flakes, typically 1–3 mm thick

Flake pastilles made by solidifying molten sulfur in a thin layer and breaking it into flakes. They melt quickly and evenly and give off far less dust than powder.

Main applications

  • Rubber and chemical production
  • Sulfonation and sulfuric acid
  • Fertilizer blending

Packing options

  • 25 / 50 kg bags
  • Jumbo bags
Request sulfur flakes

Lentil sulfur pastilles

Lentil-shaped, typically 3–6 mm

Uniform, lentil-shaped pastilles formed from drops of molten sulfur on a cooled belt. They are free-flowing and almost dust-free, the cleanest form to handle, store and dose.

Main applications

  • Fertilizer production
  • Sulfuric acid production
  • Rubber and chemical industries

Packing options

  • Bulk vessel
  • Jumbo bags
  • 25 / 50 kg bags

Typical specifications

These are reference values for the sulfur we usually supply. Your contract is based on the analysis of the actual lot.

Each lot has its own analysis

We source sulfur from several refineries and producers across Iran, so analyses vary from source to source. When you send an inquiry, we match your required specification to the stock available at that time and share the certificate of analysis for the lot we offer.

Iran, the sulfur hub of the Middle East

Iran refines natural gas from South Pars, the world's largest gas field, along with crude oil at refineries across the country. Sulfur recovered from that sour gas and oil is a steady, high-purity by-product, which makes Iran one of the leading sulfur exporters in the world.

  • Recovered from gas and oil refining, for consistent quality
  • Competitive pricing compared with other Middle East origins
  • Sea access through the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman
  • Short shipping routes to South Asia, East Africa and China

Questions buyers ask

If your question isn't here, send it on WhatsApp or by email.

What forms of sulfur does Katazo Trade export?

We export sulfur in five forms: lump sulfur, granular sulfur (typically 2–6 mm), sulfur powder (typically 80–325 mesh), sulfur flakes and lentil-shaped sulfur pastilles. Tell us about your process and we will suggest the form that fits.

What purity is Iranian sulfur?

Typical purity is 99.5% minimum, and many lots test higher. Because we source from several refineries and producers, each lot has its own analysis, which we share before you commit.

What is the minimum order quantity?

Minimum quantity depends on the product, packing and the supplying plant. We confirm it in the quotation after reviewing your inquiry.

Which Incoterms and payment terms do you offer?

Commercial terms such as Incoterms, payment method and loading port differ between the plants we work with. We agree them with you for each inquiry, based on your destination and the lot we offer.

How is the sulfur packed?

Lump, granular and pastille sulfur can be shipped in bulk vessels or jumbo bags, and granules and pastilles also in 25/50 kg bags. Powder and flakes are packed in 25/50 kg bags or jumbo bags. Containerized shipments are possible.

Can the cargo be inspected before shipment?

Yes. Quality and quantity can be checked before loading by an independent inspection company agreed in the contract.
